Hello Spring!

Yay! Spring time is here!!! I am so happy and sad at the same time. Happy because I can enjoy the nice weather and break is coming soon. Sad because I got three more months of high school left! I really enjoyed all my years at Dulles and can't believe I have to go! *tear*

Next Saturday, I have my SAT that I have to take. That will determines whether or not I make it in the college of my choice. So pray for me to have the wisdom and not slack off! :)

A long road trip.

Today, me and my parents went up to Abilene to visit Hardin-Simmons University (the school that I hope to attend). We left our house around 5:30 am and made 3 stops along the way to get there. It was a super long and tiring trip, 7 hours of driving. Me and my mom slept a little while my dad drove. I bet he is so tired now!

As we arrived, everything is so different in Abilene. I mean, its middle of no where. Everything is so small and quiet since its countryside. My parents rested after we checked into our hotel then we took a tour of the city. First, drove by Abilene Christian University....man the school is soooo much prettier than Hardin-Simmons (no offense), but I should have applied there. Then we took a tour around Hardin-Simmons. The school campus is very nice and small and quiet...I enjoy it very much and hope to be a future Cowboy.
We then visited First Baptist Church of Abilene in Downtown Abilene. It's one of the oldest churches that was established for a long time. It is very historical to where they have a "bell" that would ring every hour. The church sanctuary is huge and they have a super huge pipe organ!
Before going to dinner, we drove by McMurry University. It is a older school but yet very small. For dinner, we were going to a Chinese buffet, however we got lost, so the navigator told us to take a long way. When we arrived to the buffet resturant, we found out that it was closed down because they ran out of buisness. We went to another one close by and it was so delicious!

Now I am back at my hotel room. Tomorrow is the Winter Preview at Hardin-Simmons University. I need to get some rest because I been out all day. Have a safe and blessed weekend everyone!

A whole new year!

Wow, its been long since I last talked, but what's up, y'all?!

Last semester was pretty fun and crazy for me. Many happy and sad things. I am very happy because I earned my driving permit and now driving on roads now. We had our very last football game of the season in early November. I was very happy and sad at the same time because its our last time to play and perform but also no more for me.

As a senior, there are lots of new things in life. I feel really happy now because I have less than six months prior to graduation, but yet at the same time, I feel very sad because I will be leaving my Dulles family and moving on to my next adventure. Also, I am still in a struggle as to where to go and what to study. I narrowed into few choices. I decided I want to go to any Christian school in Texas and one in Illinois and also some public schools. There are pros and cons to both ways. Pros for going to a Christian school is I fit in to their godly life and small, quiet environment, however the cons is too expensive. Going to a public school is good because its cheaper but bigger environment.

In conclusion, the schools I am applying to are Wheaton College in Illinois, Hardin-Simmons University, Baylor University, Texas Christian University, Houston Baptist University.

The public schools I am applying to are, University of Houston, Sam Houston State University, and Texas Tech University.

My hope is to go to Wheaton College because my dad finished his Masters degree program there in Communications. Therefore, if I go, I will be the second generation of the Wheaton family. Pray for me, see where God leads me to.

Also, I am debating as to what to study. I know I want to major in Education and minor in Coaching. I either want to major in English or Science. My decision is if I go to Wheaton College, Sam Houston, Texas Tech, I will major in English. If I go to Hardin-Simmons, Baylor, TCU, or Houston Baptist, I will major in Biology and Chemistry.

Hope it goes well for you all and may God bless you as the year continues!
